The borough has a rich and diverse cultural life and is home to some of the capital's most exciting and innovative organisations, including the award winning Laban contemporary dance conservatoire, the Deptford Albany and the Horniman Museum. Over 2,000 artists and 550 creative industries are based in Lewisham and the numbers are growing all the time.
In addition, we have rapidly improving sports and leisure facilities, with proposals for four new or refurbished swimming pools and the borough's library service seeing significant investment.

Following last year’s successful trial, Lewisham Council is once again offering residents a more convenient - and free - way of disposing of garden waste at the weekend.
Lewisham residents aged 60 years old and over are being invited to apply for free passes to enable them to see county cricket matches for free at Lord’s throughout the 2010 season.
